Not so long ago in a galaxy not as far away as you may have believed...
Two hundred years after the Battle of Yavin, the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin-IV has been usurped by a small army of Sith warriors from Korriban. Lead by Darth Dymurgeous - a cunning Acolyte whose silver tongue and Force mastery has spread dissension throughout the Galaxy and has lead to a growing threat of a never-ending cycle of the New Sith War begun by Darth Krayt - the powerful warriors have broken their treaties with the Imperial Remnant and conquered them into servitude. More recent conquests and a treaty with the Hutts has granted the New Sith Empire free access to the Outer Rim, a horde of Ewok slave labor from the moons of Endor, the vast resources of the ice planet Hoth, and the powerful Imperial armadas stationed on Bastion and Dathomir. Dyrmugeous and his armies have now set their sights on Coruscant, as intelligence indicates their next target is the planet Duros.
The Jedi Order has become fragmented since the loss of the Yavin Praxeum and threats on their Coruscant Temple. With the recent deaths of several Jedi Masters at the hands of the Sith, the clear chain of leadership among the New Jedi Order's Council has broken into schism and infighting. The New Galactic Republic has fallen into turmoil, and recently elected High Chancellor Malcom Jorn has instituted martial law, drafting a large standing army to defend Coruscant against the Sith, with or without the Jedi's assistance.
A small band of Jedi, lead by Jedi Masters Bara Tzu and Xaelus Seran, have established a Jedi training academy on the nearby planet of Chandrilla, with the assistance of Jinn Mothma, great-granddaughter of Galactic Republic legend Mon Mothma. The two Masters have foreseen the inevtiable fall of Coruscant to the Sith, and calling themselves "Brothers of the Code" they have attempted to create a rallying point for the Jedi Order's Brotherhood to re-unite and overcome the Sith threat.
Meanwhile, intriguing transmissions from a far off galaxy have been filtering into the Galaxy. It is estimated they are thousands of years old and believed to be from the descendants of a group of lost explorers who vanished into Wild Space millenia ago. They speak of a strange worm hole that transported them into safety, and their new home - Urth...
